A visit to the library

Taking students to the library makes for a fantastic field trip. Make sure you make the most out of the visit. The goal is to get students familiar enough with the resource that they’ll be able to access it on their own. Many librarians are extremely generous with their time and, if you schedule in advance, will show you and your student(s) around. Be sure to inquire what your student will need in order to get a library card and culminate the trip in that activity.

  1. Please go to the Information Desk and find out when the library is open and closed.

PART B:  Searching for a Book – How to use the card catalog?

  1. Please find the website you can use to search for books on the internet?  www._________________________

  3.  What section of the library did you find it in? (Example:  fiction, nonfiction, teen, adult, children’s)
  4.  What is the title of the book?
