Irene Donhowe

Irene joined us at Intercambio as a volunteer teacher in 2022, after more than 20 years of working in an international corporate role as a food scientist.  She moved from being a teacher to recruiting new teachers, filling our position of Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement Specialist.  She’s excited that her passion for helping students gain confidence with English will be served by recruiting more teachers so that Intercambio can reach more students on a local, regional, and national level.

When not working, Irene is enjoying biking and hiking her new home state of Colorado.  She also loves discovering new recipes for cooking ethnic cuisines, and keeps her creative side happy with crocheting, sewing, and quilting.
