Rachel is a Boulder native with experience in adult English education in both formal and non-formal settings in the U.S. and abroad. Before joining Intercambio, Rachel served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica with the Community Economic Development program. In Costa Rica, she taught English for youth and adults at the beginning level. Additionally, she worked with locals on planning income-generating projects as well as on developing the skill-sets necessary to personal and community advancement. Rachel studied Economics and Public Policy at The University of Chicago where she was also involved in local community issues facing immigrants. In 2016, Rachel earned her MA in Public Administration at University of Colorado Denver where she focused on program evaluation and learning about community issues facing the greater Denver Metro Area. Rachel is on the Advisory Board for Philanthropiece, and served as a volunteer for Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA). After nearly 7 years managing Intercambio’s Boulder volunteer teacher program, writing curriculum and helping to launch our publishing arm Resources to Unite Communities, she now manages all aspects of Intercambio’s English Language and volunteer programs.
