Alex Acosta: In 2001 he began taking English classes with Intercambio Uniting Communities, and from 2004 until present he has worked with the same Intercambio teacher who comes to his home once a week. His family and his teacher’s family are like one big family now, and Alex has used his improved English to become a true community leader. He serves on the City of Longmont Housing and Human Services Advisory Board and the Longmont Police Review Panel.
Sandra Manzo: Because of Intercambio, Sandra became more confidant to find a job and recently got hired to work with Mental Health Partners. Sandra is no longer afraid and feels more comfortable speaking to people in English.
