The June Cambridge Grammar and Beyond e-newsletter presented two fun and new ways to pair students.
1. Sentence halves: Using a grammar structure – either as review from a previous lesson, or the target structure from that day – create half as many sentences as you have students. Cut the sentences in half and pass one half out to each student. Have students find their match.
2. Present a statement to students (“Learning English is fun,” etc) and have them line up according to the degree to which they agree on the statement. Create pairs or small groups by having students count off in line.
