English Teaching Practicum

Are you looking for an opportunity to fulfill your English teaching practicum or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program practicum teaching hours requirement by gaining experience teaching English online to adults? You can do it as an Intercambio online teacher!

Our online program provides an easy-to-use platform where you can use what you have learned in your TESOL program, while teaching with our Confidence and Connections curriculum. Students from many online TESOL certificate programs, as well as colleges and university TESOL programs, have fulfilled their teaching requirement with our online program.

Training and Materials

To start teaching, you will have one hour of training that explains our online platform and our materials. Once you are trained, you will have access to an optional 15 hours of videos (self-paced) and live, online training sessions. Check with your English teaching practicum program coordinator to see if these extra training hours can count towards your non-teaching hours requirement.

Program Information and Requirements

Teachers and students meet twice per week for 90 minutes.
You must complete a minimum of three months of online teaching with a student (or the time equivalent to finish one Confidence and Connections book). This is approximately 24 hours of teaching.
You must be over 18 years old or older and a resident of the U.S.
You will be teaching an adult student.
Observation opportunities are not available.
Hours taught will be certified by Intercambio after completion of the required 24 hours of teaching.
