Norma Fuentes Gallo

Norma is a well-respected community leader and cultural broker, with a remarkable ability to build connections cross-culturally. She plays a pivotal role in fostering a sense of unity and collaboration at Intercambio, helping to forge strong partnerships with school districts, faith communities, and other nonprofit organizations. Norma oversees all our classes for students and volunteer teachers, locally and nationwide, ensuring that students receive the best English classes possible and that volunteers are well-supported.

Norma began her journey with Intercambio in 2006 as a volunteer, then as a student in 2007. She officially joined our staff in 2008, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous work with Head Start Boulder County, the Family Literacy Program, and Saint Vrain School District. Originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, Norma has lived in the United States for many years, dedicating herself to helping, connecting, and teaching our community with her passion and positive attitude.

Norma has been honored with many awards, including:

  • Non-Profit Leader Award presented by the Latino Chamber of Commerce (2024)
  • Women Who Light the Community presented by the Boulder Chamber (2020)
  • The Community Service Award presented by the Twenty-Eighth Annual Multicultural Awards (2016)
  • The Community Unity Award presented by the Longmont City Council (2011)
